If you’re starting your blog with the hopes of eventually monetizing your blog and creating a brand, read on: There is no shortage of blogs online but may are run by writers, students, hobbyists, people who have special interests, educational, non-profits, etc. This blog post is directed at those who intend to “blog as a business” and our course is targeted for those looking for tips on “blogging as a business”.
Blogging as a Business or Brand
Blogging as a business or brand will require that you target specific keywords with the intent of driving targeted traffic to your blog. This targeted traffic is designed to be visitors who will be potential leads, customers, or both. You will be creating blog posts, social media posts, and videos that inform users and help them make purchasing decisions within the niche that you operate within (i.e. fitness).
Driving Targeted Traffic to Your Blog
- In order to drive this targeted traffic, you will need to create blog posts that have specific content, titles (H1 Headings), sub-headings (H2 Headings), keywords, meta descriptions, tag lines, and more.
- These blog posts will be specific to your business, industry, and niche AND they will be both informational and transactional.
- As you create these blog posts, you will need to be educating your audience, but also pre-selling and even selling your audience on your brand’s products, services, or affiliate products/services.
- In our blogging for business course, we focus on affiliate marketing and on how you can use artificial intelligence (A.I.) along with your own creative skills to create blog posts, social media posts, and videos that you can use to drive targeted traffic to your website where you can pre-sell and sell affiliate products and services.
Promoting Affiliate Links in Your Blog and Social Media Posts
- You will be able to promote your affiliate links in your blog posts and on your website, but you’ll also be able to promote these affiliate links on social media posts and video hosting sites like YouTube. With this method of monetizing your content, you can make some sales without customers even needing to visit your website. Don’t get us wrong, you want them to visit your website, but if readers or viewers click on an affiliate link on your social media posts or YouTube videos and then go on to make a purchase, you could potentially make a lot of money, without these readers ever even visiting your site.
- Although some affiliate marketers use this method to make a living without even owning a website, we feel they’re leaving the big money and branding opportunity on the table. To build a brand and a digital asset that you can eventually SELL, you will want to have a website that compliments your brand as well.
- This website will be your “home base” and for your home base, we recommend using WordPress. We will discuss the features and benefits of using WordPress for your business blog in another post.
