Start Building Business Credit

Once you have met the basic business lender compliance measures and have an accurate and updated business information profile (discussed earlier), you will want to start building business credit and establish a business credit file. As we’ve mentioned in other articles, with Business Experian, Business Equifax, and FICO Small Business Bureau, you can just apply for a business credit profile, one needs to be generated by having NET 3o09 vendors and other business vendors reporting to the business credit bureaus. The main business credit bureau that DOES allow you to apply for a business credit profile is Dun and Bradstreet, so you probably will want to start there. You can contact Dun and Bradstreet at DNB.com and see if you already have a business credit file. If you don’t already have a business credit file with Dun and Bradstreet, you can apply for a business credit file and also use their DUNSFile service to get an expedited DUNS number. The DUNSFile service is not required to get a DUNS number, but it may save you some time. You can find the DUNSFILE offer below, along with business credit services and other business services that you can compare.

Once you have a business credit profile with Dun and Bradstreet, you will want to apply for some vendors who can report to DNB. If your vendors don’t report your payments after a month or so you will want to call each NET 30 vendor and ASK them to report your payments to Dun and Bradstreet and also Business Experian and Business Equifax, If they report to those business bureaus as well. Most NET 30 vendors will require a business EIN number and some will require a personal guarantee and others may even require a social security number and a small deposit as well.

You can find NET 30 vendors from inside the business credit course offer. You can also compare business credit services and other business services below or on our business credit services comparison page.
