How to Structure a Blog Post Like a Business

When you’re “blogging as a business”, you’ll need to know how to structure a blog post like a business. The good part about his process is that you don’t have to be a novelist or even a great writer to provide the customer with the information that you need. What you do need to do is answer a question or provide valuable content information regarding certain questions that a customer may ask before buying a product or using a service. If you want your affiliate offers or your own offers to convert from your blog posts, you will need to get into the mind of the consumer and think of questions that they would be asking. Again, your blog post doesn’t need to contain award-winning writing, but it needs to provide vale and answer specific questions within the content that you create or that your outsourced writer or AI writing tool creates.

Most consumers don’t read the full review or blog post that you create about a product or service. Instead, what most consumers do is skim your blog post in order to find an answer to a specific question about the product or service or to find specific information about the product or service. Obviously, you have creative freedom with your blog and every post doesn’t need to be structured like this and every post doesn’t need to be aimed at sales in nature, but some of your posts will need to be like this in order to sell a lot of affiliate products and services or to sell many of your own digital products, physical products, or services. When writing an affiliate marketing blog post or a blog post that’s promoting your own products and services, you’ll want to focus on blog post structuring and structure a blog post in a way that will lead to sales conversions.

Here are some tips on how to structure a blog post like a business for affiliate marketing or for promoting your own products and services:

  1. Have a catchy blog post title that answers a question, provides a list (e.g. Top 5 Best Business Software Tools), or provides info. on a product/service.
  2. When you create your URL slug for your blog post in WordPress, put the keywords for the title in the slug (e.g. mywebsite.com/top-5-best-business-software-tools/ – This is very quick and easy to do and you can do this with the free version of Yoast SEO and basic WordPress editing tools, such as Elementor.
  3. Make sure to use the title keywords in your intro paragraph: For example, “We’re happy to provide our readers with a list of the top 5 business software tools for 2022, and we’ll be providing you with some great tips and insights on the features and benefits of each of these business software tools.”
  4. Use your title keywords or some variation of them in your H1 Heading (Title Heading) and H2 Heading (Paragraph Headings) Your H2 (Paragraph Heading) obviously won’t be the same as your title, but they should be related and use similar keywords that address the topic, question, or concern of the title and the article in general.
  5. Each paragraph should have a heading that either asks or answers a question, lists a feature or benefit of the product/service you’re promoting, or addresses a concern.
  6. You want to aim for approximately 1200-1500 words per article. You should have several paragraphs within the blog post and each should address either questions and concerns or features and benefits of the product(s) and service(s) that you’re promoting (affiliate or your own).
  7. Have a list under at least one of your paragraphs. In this sample blog post, we would want to list the top 5 business software tools for 2022 in one the first few paragraphs in the blog posts. The list will contain links to your affiliate products with your specific affiliate link, so you’ll earn money if a sale is made.
  8. In the other paragraphs that aren’t lists, make sure you provide valuable content and information about the features and benefits of the product(s) and service(s) you’re promoting or answer questions about those products or services (affiliate or your own).
  9. Feel free to embed a video description of the affiliate product/service into the blog post or you can provide a LINK to a video about the product/service. Make sure it is a video that you either created, own the right to, or have permission to use or link to.
  10. If you’re using the free Yoast SEO tool with the Elementor editor, make sure you create a meta description for your blog posts that contains the title keywords: E.G. “In this post, we will feature our software expert who will provide you with the top 5 business software tools for 2022 and beyond.”
  11. You will also want to use Yoast SEO or another tool with the Elementor editor to create a focus phrase that is either the same or similar to your blog post title: E.G. “Best business software” or “Top 5 Business Software Tools”
  12. Use keyword research to find the keywords that you want to target in order to eventually make a sale of your own products/services or your affiliate products/services. You can use free or paid keyword research tools such as, but not limited to, Ubbersuggest, SurferSEO, SEMRush, Worstream, Google search tools, etc.
  13. You may want to consider using AI writing tools and editing tools to help you with your writing. This is optional, of course, but many bloggers have written about the features and benefits of certain AI writing tools such as Grammarly, SurferSEO, and others.
  14. Use words that are related to your title and blog post topic. Use variations of these words and use them in many different orders. For example, think of different ways that the customer may phrase or ask a question about a particular product or service that you’re promoting. For example, in this sample blog post we are discussing the top 5 business software tools for 2022. What other questions would a customer who was interested in the post be asking? For example, they would probably ask themselves “what are some good business software tools”, or “what software can really help my business this year”, etc. Try to get in the customers head and use keywords that not only state what they might be asking themselves, but also provides answers and valuable content that’s directly related to the product or service that you’re promoting.
  15. If you’re using the Elementor editing tool in WordPress, Make sure to check off the proper blog category or categories that relate best to the post that your making. In our hypothetical blog post about the top 5 business software tools, that post may fall into your “business software” category, or “business services” category, depending on the blog categories that you created.
  16. If you’re using the Elementor editing tool in WordPress, you will also want to create a few tags for your blog post. You may consider creating a tag for the article title and then a couple other close variations: EG. “top 5 business software tools”, “business software tools”, “top business software”.
